Sara loves Ryan
I only do wedding invites for friends, and luckily said friends are often of a similar nature-loving, human-line-seeking sensibility. When I get to do this, an opportunity for some sort of experimentation or collaboration usually pops up, and it all feels quite special.
Such was the case with Sara and Ryan, who decided to use food as the centerpiece for their invitations. Through the various rituals of nurture, earthly provisions play an important part in the way they savor their everyday together.
She documents the organic forms strewn on the table, cutting board, in her hands, on a plate or in a vessel etc, resulting in a beautiful archive of warm and soulful photos, from which we chose these three.
Along with the obligatory event info, I added some beet, chamomile, and citrus botanical drawings and simple brush lettering to the mix, printed them on ecru stock with borders to enhance the photo aspect and give the bleeding lines a stream to flow into, and this is the result.
