Pearl Album Art

To complement the dreamy mood of this gypsy jazz album, I wanted to create a whimsical image that felt old-timey but not like an ad for baby powder. I chose delicate lilies of the valley, and an azure-billed magpie. The title track lilts along about a love far across the sea; this bird is found in China and hearing one sing is said to be a foretelling of happiness. I alluded to the pearl reference with the berry held delicately in the magpie's beak, and drew a decorative, engraver's-style lettering for the title.
